WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 3, 2025 – INCOMPAS, the internet and competitive networks association,
released the following statement reacting to the result of the remedy trial in the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) antitrust case against Google:
“The court’s decision to set aside the DOJ’s most far-reaching remedies is right and protects consumers from proposals that would have broken products like Chrome and Android, solutions that would have harmed consumers and undermined competition in online marketplaces. This outcome makes clear that antitrust enforcement should be about protecting consumers,” said INCOMPAS CEO Chip Pickering.
“At the same time, the ruling highlights the competition in the online search ecosystem driven by innovations in AI. By acknowledging these realities, the court affirmed that innovation, market dynamism, and consumer welfare must remain at the center of competition policy.”
