Q: Where do you provide services?
Our fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) network is currently available to more than 200,000 homes and over 10,000 small businesses in 27 municipalities in New York. We currently serve customers in the Buffalo-Niagara Region, Greater Rochester Region, Southern Tier, Capital Region and the Hudson Valley.
Q: What types of products and/or services do you offer?
Our product catalog features synchronous fiber optic speeds ranging from 500 Mbps to an impressive 8 Gbps, complemented by comprehensive managed Wi-Fi solutions
Q: What are the biggest challenges that your company faces and how is it overcoming these challenges?
Our primary challenge revolves around rapidly increasing costs of building and operating our network, particularly within New York state.
The recent update to the Department of Labor’s interpretation of the prevailing wage law has substantially increased the costs associated with building fiber internet infrastructure in communities lacking access, despite the growing demand.
Another persistent challenge, spanning several years, is the necessity for predictable and cost-effective access to utility poles. Given that a large part of our fiber network construction involves attaching to these poles, collaborating with their owners to improve our access remains a consistent item on our agenda.
