Policy Working Groups

To better understand and serve our membership, INCOMPAS has created three working groups to discuss the prominent issues their businesses are facing.

Broadband Deployment Working Group

The INCOMPAS Broadband Deployment Working Group meets on behalf of our members that are deploying fiber, fixed wireless, mobile, and satellite networks to deliver competitive communications services. INCOMPAS works with members to understand how to educate federal, state, and local policymakers about the need to deploy broadband infrastructure quickly and affordably. We are advocating for policymakers at the federal, state, and local levels to streamline permitting and to ensure reasonable costs for our member companies to deploy their networks in public rights-of-way, including on poles, pole replacements, railroad crossings, and franchise fees.

Robocall Working Group

The INCOMPAS Robocall and Call Authentication Working Group is comprised of members that represent a variety of voice service models, including traditional CLECs, VoIP providers, and wireless carriers, that serve residential and enterprise customers. Our members are committed to mitigating the threat of illegal robocalls and robotexts to their customers while working with the FCC to concurrently identify ways to preserve consumer trust in voice and messaging services while promoting policies that encourage competition, innovation and economic development. The Working Group actively contributes to INCOMPAS’s advocacy at the FCC and its advisory committees, industry standards-making groups, and joint efforts, like the Secure Telephone Identity—Governance Authority, which manages the implementation of the STIR/SHAKEN call authentication framework.

Technology Working Group

INCOMPAS’ Tech Working Group is made up of some of the world’s leading tech and streaming companies. The Working Group works to strengthen competition and innovation for online content and services and tackles issues and efforts that these companies are facing both domestically and globally. Members benefit through briefings, strategy discussions, and building cross-company relationships.
